Notwithstanding her questionable choices when it comes to flagrant fouls and flagrant x posts, it's always bothered me that Stanford doesn't count Carrington as an alum in their WNBA roundups, since unlike others she used all of her available eligibility at Stanford, graduated in four years, and grad transferred only because we didn't (initially) have a spot for her. Not sure what she should have done differently given those circumstances and (again, last week notwithstanding), not sure why we'd disclaim an alum who's had a pretty successful W career.
Definitely agreed.
Same. Btw, do we claim Iriafen and David Bailey?
Stanford Women's Soccer has no problem claiming its grad transfers:
- Ryan Campbell played her grad-transfer year at UCLA. They congratulated her when she won the 2025 NWSL title with Gotham.
- Mariah Lee played her grad-transfer year at Wake Forest. They congratulated her after she won the 2025 Northern Super League championship with Vancouver Rise.
- Lumi Kostmayer played her grad-transfer year at Cal. Yes CAL! And she was Cal's leading scorer. They still congratulated her after she signed professionally with Fortuna Hjørring.
- Madison Ayson played her grad-transfer year at Xavier. They celebrated her when she signed professionally with the Houston Dash.
- Kyra Carusa played her grad-transfer year at Georgetown. They celebrated her when she represented Ireland at the 2023 World Cup.
