Stanford fell behind Denver 1-0 in the 1st half on Sunday, then stormed back to win 3-1 (not counting a late goal that was waved off). I really liked to see that Stanford kept the foot on the gas even after they took the lead.
The voters were impressed as well. Stanford is ranked #1 this week in the coach's poll. Stanford's opponent on Thursday, San Diego, is ranked #2.
If you are a soccer fan, Thursday is going to be an amazing double header at Laird Q Cagan Stadium with the #1 vs. #2 men's match only a warm-up for the main event in the evening when the #1 Stanford women take on UCLA.
