They need to put him out to pasture if only because he's darn near unintelligible.  For some reason, I happen to be fluent in grumpy old man (is that the real life equivalent of parseltongue?), so I was able to catch that bon mot he made last night on live TV about what a "shame" it was that the "field goal went in" to sink Oregon.

Heard that too, right before I switched the channel to something other than a pre-BCS N.D. love fest.

The other thing I heard Holtz say was that he believes Oregon is and will finish as the #2 team in the country.  That should be saved by ESPN, so that when 'Bama beats the domers silly we can all quickly note that even in his opinion that team from Indiana should be #3 at best.
