It's all about upside. If the defense is good in 2013 -- which it should be -- Mason gets all of the credit. If the offense is good in 2013 -- which it might be -- Shaw and Hamilton will definitely split credit (at best), and Shaw might get the lion's share. OTOH, Hamilton in Indy, working for a defensive-minded coach, will get all the coaching-related credit for the offense.
