we never stooped to treating him the way these Low APR U "fans" are treating their poorly performing former quarterback. Remember:

- Players can't be held accountable for their natural gifts or the lack thereof
- Players don't choose who starts. Coaches do. Almost any player would choose starting over sitting

There were rumors that Maynard was starting only because Keenan Allen insisted on it (and threatened not to play if Maynard was benched).  I have no idea if that's true or not.  But if it is, then it would be entirely justifiable for Kal fans to be very angry with both Maynard and Allen.

In contrast, Nunes handled the situation very well.  Every report I heard suggested that he wasn't happy about being benched, but that he accepted it and did his best to help the team.  You can't ask for anything more than that.
