I recall reading a newspaper article covering Stanford's pro day when Zach Ertz shouted out to reporters that Richards was the best safety he had ever played against in college.  Even accounting for a bit of hyperbole involved in boosting a teammate, the fact that he singled out Richards is significant.  Interceptions are what people who don't follow the team note, but all the other hard hits and big plays that don't get on ESPN are in the long run at least as important.
