I live in SoCal and so get a lot of Under Stanford Control coverage. Although it has been a while, I am pretty sure I read an article at the time that identified Taylor Mayes, SC's supposedly all-world player who I think benefited from typical SC over-hyping, as the player who said he would walk off the field if we ran power one more time. That is who I have thought said it.

And for what it's worth, I interpreted JH's decision to go for 2 more as an expression of his disgust and contempt for SC quitting than an expression of personal animosity toward PC.

I don't think it was animosity toward Petey as a person. What I do think Harbaugh was doing was making a statement that the U$C football program was no longer numero uno and that there was a new sheriff in town.
