I too feel I was born to be a high school teacher.  Both of my parents were, and when we were debating what high school we were thinking of sending out kids to, and I walked into the big suburban public high school, I just had such a sense of being in the right place. 

But I can't think of anything that feels further away than a nice comfortable high school than middle school.  Maybe I was just a mess back then, but to this day I pretty get a kick out of all the high school age kids I meet, and just want the middle school kids to go hide themselves away until they grow up just a tad.

Kudos for being a middle school teacher.  Mine were pretty important to me.
