Well, I'll only speak for myself but I knew the worm would turn.  It always does.  That is why it is so important to live in the moment.  Enjoy your ride because it will end.  It always does.

71Bear, surely the worm will turn.  The difference is now it's proven that Stanford can compete at the highest level because of, not in spite of, our higher academic standards.  We might hit a bump if/when Shaw leaves, but his successors can no longer say winning is impossible here.  Given that Shaw's here a while, the prospects for the worm turning in your lifetime are not good.  And if/when he does leave, one of the catalysts would be Shaw winning the whole thing.  That surely will eat every Bear alive for the rest of their lives.
