The story when he moved to the NFL was that Jim's family wanted to stay on the Peninsula where Harbaugh could work for the Niners without moving. The coach had followed in Walsh's footsteps and saw the Niners as a storied and prestigious club at the highest level of competition - none of this sounds like Texas.
On the 49ers side, I can't see the organization letting their coach go easily after wandering in the NFL's dessert for a proverbial generation. Harbaugh took them to a promised land that eluded Nolan, Singletary, Mariucci and every SF coach since Seifert.
Harbaugh is competitive and money is one way of keeping score among football men but this rumor seems far -fetched. It doesn't fit what we know of the man.
