I believe the Fiesta bowl organizers are darn tired of carrying the non-AQ burden. Â Boise State (2010, 2007), TCU (2010), Utah (2005)
It seems like every non-AQ has gone to the Fiesta Bowl. Â My guess is that the Fiesta Bowl and every non-AQ would like for some other bowl to do some of the lifting here. Â That probably was the genesis for this forced non-AQ rule, but I do not know that for sure.
And from a TCU perspective the trade stinks. Â TCU was just at the Fiesta Bowl last year, so I would guess they don\'t really want to switch Fiesta for Rose. Â Now, if they could get into the Sugar Bowl, I bet they would make that trade.
I do not know when the Sugar\'s rotation/obligation starts, but the point of this forced rotation was to spread the burden. Â The Fiesta Bowl has done more than enough to keep the other BCS bowls out of DC hearings.
