For all the grief we give Shaw for his non-answer answers and terminal blandness,  he doesn't treat people with contempt.  Imagine if Leach had brought his interview/interpersonal demeanor to Palo Alto. 

I think what puts Leach apart from many coaches is he puts a premium on winning his way  above winning, period.  That kind of gunslinger /code-of-the-West  shtick played down in Lubbock until he made the cost of doing it "his way" too high for TT.  And, he had started working himself into that corner with the university before the shed incident ever occurred.  Funny. I bet he preaches endlessly about  TEAM, TEAM, TEAM to his players...but is such an obstinate loner in his own practice of the art.
