I think Leach's system absolutely works...for a football team's offense.  I'm unsure of any special defensive philosophy the Pirate Coach espouses.  But the man knows how to score points if he can get a team of players to fill the roles he has envisioned for them.

You do know that this statement is not really true.  Leach's system allows a team to score points in bunches when the other team is inferior, but suffers when the other team actually can tackle or is in the top 20.  Leach has PLENTY of losses where his high powered offense failed to score 25 points.  In most of those games his teams were playing the better teams in the conference either in the Big12 or Pac-12.  In 5 of the Wazzu's team losses this year Wazzu did not get to 25 points.  And there is a similar trend that you can also see in Leach's 10 year history at Texas Tech.

Leach can, and has, run up the score against inferior teams, but teams with real talent or speed on defense have historically been able to keep Leach's O out of the endzone.
