Wow Hank. That's a terrific interview. The best of yours I've read. Didn't know about it. Really should dig through your archived posts during this offseason when I need a Stanford football fix and things are quieter around here. Anyhow this was my favorite part:
"My grandmother summed it up. I was only the second person in my family to go to college. My mom had gone. She said, Youre going for a lot more people than just yourself. For a young, black man to put his name on a Stanford degree, I just dont think you can pass it up. They let me make my decision, but at the end of the day it was right."
We've talked about the powerful positive influence of Stanford Moms, let's hear for it the Grandmas too! Damon Dunn's grandmother, my 3rd favorite Stanford grandmother (after my two of course).
