We didn't play great, but we got a win and, more importantly, avoided losing to a team to which we absolutely could not afford to lose.Â
I can't complain about the margin, especially as no PAC-12 team has beaten USC by more that we just did except for UCLA way back on Jan. 5. USC has lost a lot in conference play, but they have not generally lost by this much.
Our upcoming schedule is tough. In the remaining 5 games, we play only 1 team ranked lower than us -- Utah. The other four games are all against top 30 or so teams. 3-2 or better in these games secures a spot in the dance. A 2-3 run would not necessarily damn us but a lot would have to break right and we would need to win a couple games in the conference tournament. Â
