Well, of course there was another coach before Harbaugh who wasn't able to do as much with the talent as Harbaugh. The before/after comparison is pretty striking so either Harbaugh's timing is impeccable, or he actually can coach. If you add the evidence from Stanford, he's been with the 49ers since 2005, but the GM only since 2011. Since that coincides with Harbaugh's hiring it is tough to make conclusions, but you'd expect the GM's impact to take a bit longer than a coach's.
That being said, we have no idea who else Harbaugh has pissed off in the 49ers organization. it all depends on whether Harbaugh has York's support, no?
