and I'm not sure he would agree for one second that he didn't devote time enough to getting the execution right.  And Walsh was just building on the work of others, including Paul Brown.  So you could argue that Bill Walsh was more practical and basic because he concentrated on making some intellectual concepts work on the field at game speed.

Pete Carroll is a good coach, maybe a great coach.  I just don't buy the idea that he is better than Walsh because he uses more reps in practice.
