As long as Navorro Bowman is out recovering from his knee injury on the fumble recovery that wasn't, Michael Wilhoite, himself a UFA from Washburn, is the presumed starter opposite Patrick Willis at ILB.

Skov very well could have seen this and felt he could potentially earn a starting job for the 49ers as a rookie UFA.  But even if he can't beat out Wilhoite, if he beats out Chris Borland, he could see some PT, and not just on special teams. 

I'm convinced Skov's odds of making an NFL roster are greater than any other UFA in his class.
