Yeah, it's ludicrous. But every time you see the NCAA rules leading to an absurd result like this, it's probably because somebody tried to cheat by doing something along these lines. 

In addition, note this is Oklahoma. They appear to either have an overzealous compliance office or feel they are taking a stand by self-reporting trivial and questionable violations. This was the source of pasta-gate as well. If I remember correctly, at the time the NCAA said that what Oklahoma reported was not an NCAA violation. Though I admit I cannot find that statement by the NCAA right now, so perhaps I misremember.

I actually think Terry pointed out that statement by the NCAA, so perhaps he remembers.
