Liked Chef a lot.  It pushed too hard for sentiment at many times and the director wasn't able to coax a good performance out of Chef's son, but still a nice evening at the movies. And it was wondeful to see the bombshell play a role other than the wretched cartoon she is forced to play in Modern Family, a program that can free-fall a viewers IQ almost a point per minute.

It's shaping up as a bad year for movies after the best one of my lifetime.  Maybe wait 'til next year?
