Perhaps 20 Feet From Stardom, Mud, Zero Dark Thirty, Gravity, In A World, Dallas Buyer’s Club, Her, Wolf of Wall Street, Blackfish, American Hustle, Stories We Tell, Rush, All Is Lost, Frances Ha, and Computer Chess are not to everyone’s taste. (And many people would include Leviathan, 20 Years a Slave, and Inside Llwelyn Davis on that Damn Good list.) But those movies are among the reasons that most critics rank 2013 among the three best years in the history of cinema. 

So far this year, nothing moves me.  Chef was lightweight fun and could never crack that list above.  The movie from Chile, Gloria, gets a similar review.

Sure looks like the crum after the storm to me.

See Jersey Boys.  We are going at 7 tomorrow, and it has me wondering how I can ever suspend disbelief because my friend John Lloyd Young is the star. I could do that easily when I saw him on Broadway because we had not yet met.  it will be interesting.
