Inside Llewyn Davis floored me.  It is by far my favorite Coen Brothers movie.

Wow.  You have got to be in the craziest of minorities.  And I liked it.

My beef with last years movies wasn't the quality of some of the small surprises (nebraska, buyers club) but in the big disappointments in some of the bigger movies.  Wolf of Wall Street was terrible Scorsese.  Gravity was just terrible apart from the opening scene.  All if Lost was just a neat idea that they didn't realize would be a brobdingnagian beat down.  So there was some gunk that soured the whole.

Zero Dark and Leviathan were 2012, no I wouldn't put 12 Years a Slave up there. 

The best small movie last year was The Hunt. 

In any case, most critics ranking 2013 one of the best three years in movie history?    Going to wait on the final results for that.   

I have Her on the living room table, so that may change my vote.
