Thanks for your clarity on the subject, BC.  I do need to find some time to read the opinion and figure out where being protected from disparaging remarks fits into the trademark office's fiat.

You don't have to spend all that much time. BC's earlier post on the topic lists the relevant part of the statute (with a link to the whole statute) that explicitly forbids the patent office issuing trademarks for terms deemed disparaging.
