I thought it worked perfectly.  Harbaugh turns around the program, but is clearly headed to the pros.  Some personal attributes that are possibly suboptimal for a long-term college coach.  Shaw learns from Harbaugh (and others) over the years and was very clearly ready to not just take on the program, but shepherd it for a very, very long time.  Perfect succession planning, really the kind you dream about.
