Yeah, let me know Nan3cy -- I know you have the Texas ties and I am wondering if we Texans are giving it a complete and total free pass. I certainly have felt that way about Slacker and especially Dazed and Confused.Â

I think that Boyhood simply isn't a comparable film to just about anything. I think I could see someone thinking it was overpraised beyond the initial clever idea that it is based on. I wouldn't respect that opinion all that much, but anyone who has recently spoken to a teenage boy or an alcoholic knows the dialogue is going to be pretty stilted.Â
I'm still thinking about the movie and will be thinking about it for months and years to come.Â
We can talk about issues of great import and see films that address great topics, but the idea of this film about the simple passage of time pretty much hit me like -- not like a ton of bricks -- but like the inevitable passage of time.Â
