Having found the 2014 Spring Game on Youtube, I watched it the last two nights. A few observations:
Based on the Spring Game I saw, Barry Sanders would be the starting RB based on his production and pass cathcing ability. Young made fewer big plays and was absolutely "turnstiled" on a LB blitz by Noor D. IIRC.Â
Ricky Seale will not play any meaningful snaps in 2014 unless three RBs go down in front of him.
I get how they want to protect the QB, but you really can't make an accurate assessment on a QB unless he can be hit.Â
Peter Kalambayi was used as a pass rusher, but I never really noticed him in pass coverage. If he can effectively drop into coverage he may get a lot more playing time against passing-oriented teams.
Noor D. really looked good. He stood out more than Blake Martinez.Â
Hogan seems very capable of utilizing the height of his receivers.
Henry Anderson is a monster.
Ryan Burns has a long way to go.
