The rankings aren't split up that way, but the numbers can be broken down. I don't feel like going through each school, so he is the breadkdown for Stanford.
Vs. conference 6.6 penalties per game; 57.6 penalty yards per game
vs. non-conference 4.3 penalties per game, 45.3 penalty yards per game
It is worth noting that in the last two games, things have gotten a bit better. After posting 8, 9, and 9 penalties against Washington, Notre Dame, and Washington State, respectively, we've put up 5 and 3 penalties against ASU and OSU. Probably too little data to know if it is a trend, but I hope it is. We can't afford many penalties against Oregon.
