If you want to get technical, virtually everything we talk about here is pointless and counterproductive. I still think there are similarities between Stanford and the Niners that are meaningful. It's a lot more than coincidence. And I think a lot of it has to do with defenses getting better at stopping what the teams do and the offenses not adequately adjusting.
