The A&M game was winnable (I didn\'t hear boos, but I was in the south end zone, and it\'s a big stadium)...I bet the Iowa State game saw a lot of boos though, as perhaps the UCLA game did.

Stanford should be a much more pleasant team to root for--tell \'em it\'s never too early to set their son\'s college sights on the best university in the land...

I went to the UCLA game.  There were a few boos (not entirely unrelated, there was quite a bit of booze), but for the most part everybody was just in complete shock.  Handling Tech in Lubbock seemed to give everyone (fans, players and coaches alike) a false sense of comfort heading into that game.  The players also probably watched quite a bit of Stanford\'s trouncing of the Bruins, and they thought, "If Stanford dominated them..."

I, too, took the Stanford undergrad/UT grad route.  And Stanford is much, much more fun to root for.
