Yeah, I almost commented upon him the first time.
Garcia shows up in the Stanford record book in two different ways.
He hit possibly the most important FG in Stanford history to take down Michigan in the 1972 Rose Bowl.
He's also tied for the longest FG in Stanford history - 59 yards in a 1 point loss to S.-C. in 1973.
However, he also appears in the record book in some less exemplary ways.
Second most attempts per game was 5 vs SJS in 1971. But he went 0-5 and Rose Bowl bound Stanford somehow lost 12-13.
He also tied for the most attempts in a season, 31 in 1971. But he only made 16 of them, shy of 52%.
For his career he was 44-84, or 52%. That's not good enough to get on the list of top career percentage FGs.
I was too young to remember, but I suspect Garcia spent some amount of his career driving Stanford fans nuts.
