In 82' the rally started at the top of Nob Hill and wound its way without police escort through the streets down to the Aquatic Park.  No Broadway, Carol Doda, or strippers, but we did go to Broadway for Basque food and drink after the rally.  I think it was 83' when some nutjob drove into the crowd when we clogged up the streets down near the Aquatic Park.  Because of the incident, my Jr. & Sr. years they made everybody take buses up to the Embarcadero for a short, lame, police-controlled march along a few blocks of Fisherman's Wharf to the Aquatic Park.  I celebrated by twisting my ankle in a streetcar track and getting a ride to the Kaiser Emergency Room.  That is when I learned the dangers of attending a Big Game rally sober.
