So you are basically asking for what happened last year? Pac 12 impressed in bowls. SEC didn't fare well. A Big Ten team ended up with National Championship. Most people probably forgot about SEC poor performance in bowls by the time of the 2015 season and all hailed the mighty SEC again. Over a 10 year period, the SEC is certainly the most dominant conference based on national championships and NFL talent, but it sure seems like a down couple of years in the SEC. So much of college football is driven by having a really strong QB and it seems the last two years have been weak QBs in the SEC which may explain why the SEC has had relative weak years in 2014 and 2015 with Alabama the only one looking like a top 10 team.
