Arizona at home is a measuring stick game. Arizona is among the best teams in the conference year in and year out. But Stanford still is not competitive with them.Â
Dawkins beat the Wildcats at Maples in 2009 and not since. His overall record vs Arizona is 1-12. Stanford clearly has an Arizona problem right now.

I'm glass half-full on this game/the team - we *were* competitive for most of the game. I think we lost focus for 2-3 minutes and let the game get out of hand.

- The collection of talent/athleticism/ball skills on the team is the best I've seen in the last 4 years. And the only graduating senior is Verhoven.
- Marcus Sheffield is SO talented - big/fast/athletic guard. He could have gotten past his man at will - but he struggles with the help defenders.
- Josh Sharma is fast becoming my favorite player - he's a more athletic Nastic. He got flipped over going up for a rebound.
- We're creating great looks, but I really wish we consistently knocked down open 3's
- Andrew Luck sighting! The student section and fans were definitely excited to see him (The students mobbed him at halftime for pictures. The older business guys were in there working it too.)

Those late '90s and early aughts were my years (Class of '03), and it's hard to square the basketball program of my college years to the program today. Like you said, very sad.Â

With all due respect, since I admire your writing, perhaps you might want to follow Stanford Basketball on facebook at the very least since they always post upcoming games. The Pac12 Network had been touting this match-up since the Cal game last week. And it was actually competitive for 30 minutes. Made this fan believe in the possibilities. Like ahuang06 said, Sheffield is pretty special, and Sharma will be too. Take a gander when you can! 8)

With all due respect, since I admire your writing, perhaps you might want to follow Stanford Basketball on facebook at the very least since they always post upcoming games. I know I could make myself aware of the schedule (although I'm not familiar with the network you mentioned), but that's kind of my point. I just can't muster the interest, and that's what makes me sad. But I promise to watch the next game that shows up on my DVR. I have heard the whispers of hope, so perhaps it's time.

If your opponent gets to 70 that's NOT good defense.

Defense is not the problem with this team. Ken Pomery has us 42nd in D-I in defense. 162nd on offense--there's your trouble.
