I seem to recall reading an article that quoted Shaw as saying that when Stanford gives a player an offer it is a legitimate offer. It isn't something that gets pulled when someone else commits or someone who is perceived better comes along.
We'll see what happens on this one. My guess would be that Bentley just decides to go somewhere else. Who knows though?

Why not take two elite QBs in the same class. Despite the ratings, QBs are a bit of a crapshoot (maybe not more than other positions, but it feels like it given the spotlight on the position). Having two in the same class will just increase competition. WHichever QB wins out will probably be pretty good. And in this day and age, you can bet that there will be some QB attrition. Let's say Chryst gets the starting job, what are the chances Burns transfers? Or somehow next year Costello takes the reins, do we lose one more more of the older QBs?
