For all the reasons that CT lists, that's why I hope Mark Few is on that list.  I think he does have 3-4 kids that may want to matriculate to Stanford.  Bennett (UVA) would be fantastic.  I don't see the St Mary's Bennett getting the opportunity given the violations.

He may be on the list but I don't see why in the world he would take the job if offered.  Pays less, MUCH higher cost of living, and frankly at this point it would be a step down in program quality.  We need someone young, hungry, and good for whom this is a step up - and need to manage our expectations that if he succeeds here he will probably be gone in less than five years.  Right now Stanford MBB HC is a stepping-stone job, not a destination.

As for Turner, I completely agree with our new guest that he would make an excellent choice and he knows the program very, very well.  I'm curious as to who the former players are that are promoting him?

That's a little bit of a specious argument.  The recruit that Stanford turns down is unlikely to be a top-level Stanford recruit, whereas that same recruit for Harvard will be their best or second best recruit of the season.  The Ivy League has agreed upon a single set of averages grades and test scores that are binding across the Ivy League.  But within those averages, each has leeway to take one a recruit or two per year that are lower than the mean, as well as recruits that are considerably higher than the mean.  So I wouldn't draw any broad conclusions from a single prospect.

The Ivy League formula has been discussed here and in other places.  I have heard from Ivy League colleagues that Harvard, which at one point was at the top end of that formula has worked its way down to the middle/lower tier in order to raise some of their athletic programs.  So my guess, and it's just that, is that they have regressed more towards the the lower tier Ivy athletic admissions standards where they were likely on the high side before.

I had two sons recruited to Princeton for minor sports, one graduated in 2014, one is there now.  During that process, I had a lengthy conversation with the Harvard Ass't AD who was in charge of getting athletes into the school.  We discussed the process across all of the sports, including football.  I'm confident that what I wrote is accurate.

Nick Robinson definitely needs a reset on his coaching career.  His overall record during his 4 year tenure at Southern Utah was 28-90.
