Inky initially tried out for the Pan American team. She dropped out. Does anyone know why? Did she get injured?

Inky initially tried out for the Pan American team. She dropped out. Does anyone know why? Did she get injured?
Did she drop out or was she just not selected? The three middles chosen were Carly Wopat ('13), Rhamat Alhassan (6'4" rising junior), and Kelsie Payne (6'3" rising junior). I would guess that Inky is better than either of the last two...maybe her knee isn't all the way back yet? The roster was released about 10 hrs ago as of this post :)

I'd rather her sit out the summer and be at 100% for a potential title run this fall.
Side note: Kelsie Payne is from Austin, TX, which means that Kansas somehow poached some good vball talent out from under the nose of 2012 natl champion Texas Longhorn coach Jerritt Elliott.

It is nice to see another volleyball fan. I have posted on VolleyTalk for a decade. The vitriol on that forum is getting to me. Everyone posts with an agenda. The main attitude is My team is better than your team. My player is better than your player. My conference is better than your conference.
I completely agree about resting Inky this summer. I was very surprised and fearful when I saw her trying out for the Pan Am team. She needs more time to condition and strengthen her knee.Â
Do you have any opinion who will be the starting setter, Humphreys or Gray. On Volleytalk Gray is the overwhelming choice. I think it will be Humphreys.
One last unrelated question while I am here. What is the delay in Stanford publishing the yield for the 2016 class. Is admissions trying to get every last waiting list applicant committed to Stanford before announcing the yield?

Many Stanford coaches wait until May to announce their classes so they can include all new players which includes walk ons. That's why it was May for the announcement for WVB and several other sports

It's their first ever 100% yield. They're just building suspense... :P. Actually, an email went out to incoming frosh referencing "1,798 students," so since there were 2,063 admits, that means a yield of 87.2%, up by 6.1% over last year. Hahvahd announced 80%, down 1% from last year.Â
BTW, I used to go on VolleyTalk as well. Both my sons played at a high level, but you're right, the whack jobs took over.

I'm a casual volleyball fan. I used to spend a lot of time playing rec games indoor and on sand (still keep my kneepads in the car). Been a Stanford volleyball fan since I learned the sport on the Farm. Had my heart broken in the mid-2000's with all the almost-natty season :)

paloalto, nice to see you here. I've been lurking on Volleytalk for a couple of years, mostly only reading Stanford threads. I don't really know that much about volleyball, but have been learning more now that I can watch most Stanford games on Pac-12 Network. I also go to games occasionally -- I live less than 2 miles from Maples.
