Losing to Alabama is forgivable. Not so much the way USC did, but Helton was right in that it doesn't have to define the season. If the Trojans bounce back and compete in the Pac-12, "52-6" will just be another embarrassing memory to throw on the pile.

If they don't improve quickly, though, it could put Helton on the fast track to becoming an Alabama staffer.
