Have we seen Love and McCaffrey in the game at the same time today? Annoying that despite all the preseason rhetoric about this possibility, it's barely happened at all.
Also annoying to me: why McCaffrey seems to pass-block all the time today. He's the team's best receiver and the other guys just aren't, so far, getting separation.

From the stands near the play, it looked like he realized it was going to be a penalty and tried to pull back, but couldn't quite. Or maybe you're right that he didn't make contact but the ref threw the flag because it looked like he did. Sigh.

Like I'm not sure why, given what we learned from Notre Dame -- that Irwin and Love are at least competent -- that we've gone back to feed-McCaffrey-all-the-time-no-matter-what offense.

Totally agree on getting McCaffrey out on pass patterns.

It's hard to see much redeeming about the offensive game plan today. We've known for weeks that simply relying on the offensive line to win their matchups up front has been foolish. So what is the coaching staff doing? More of their Plan A -- ask the offensive line to win. Where's Love? Where's Love at the same time as McCaffrey?
This is pretty atrocious and while it might be a stretch for such mediocre OL play and competent-at-best QB play to produce an explosive offense, it shouldn't be this painful.

It seems that we cannot punish throwing deep, so there is no danger to stacking the box to stop our runs.
Now lets give the defense a bit of a breather by moving the ball a bit.
