Bearinsider would explode if we did that. Everyone on that board seems to loathe anything that's not high speed, heavy passing attack. Anything pro-style or grinding out offense is viewed with disdain.

I would love to see a Shawngren ground-only attack that featured effective misdirection, multiple (creative, even) plays from the same formations, and clear exploits of defensive tendencies/positions. Would be a lovely thing to see kal's run D shredded left, right, and center. It would also show great insight into the thinking of our offensive braintrust :)

Along those lines, this is the first year in quite some time (since I arrived in 2004) that we've beaten Oregon, USC, Cal, and ND. For some reason, that quartet of games has stood out as the big ones in the past decade or so; Cal because it's the Big Game, USC because of the history of the rivalry and their success last decade; ND because of their national exposure; Oregon because of their recent dominance and rivalry with us for the division.
In the last several seasons, a sweep of those opponents put us in the NCG or playoffs. That's definitely the case for 2010, 2011, and 2015; and there's a good argument for it in 2012 and 2013. This year it's still a good cap in a solid season, but it would be crazy in previous years to think of beating those 4 and then losing the WSU and Colorado (and UW depending on the season). But it's nice to have those for bragging rights for a year!

And expanding a bit.....if you have told me at the beginning of the year that we would have swept the three California schools, Oregon and ND, and throw in a KState team that is in 4th place in the Big 12, I would have thought it was a pretty year. And I guess I do.....

This Christmas, I'm asking Santa for everything I asked for last year including "no losses, if any, by more than 10 pts." Glad to see CMac break records against a meaningful opponent. His legs looked kind of dead toward the end of the game!
