Hey BC, how nice of you to cite my tirade on the 2014 season. While I would like to think that my position on the troubles of 2014 has a little more nuance that that, for the present purposes that's good enough.
In defense of Teejers, I think it is perfectly reasonable to discuss individual play calls on our board and also think that statistics are often a poor guide to the call you should make on any one play in any one particular situation. Some of the calls our staff has made look pretty bad to me.
However, one might also remember that somebody might disagree with you without being definitively wrong and that play calling realtime is hard - all coaches mess up with some regularity.
[And for the record on those two calls from the 2013 season, I think the call against Utah on third and two on the Utah 6 with 1:00 left was bad and the call against $C on second and two from our own 40 with 3:02 left was ... unclear. ]
