When I first read your post, I thought "C.al's AD saying no mas? Man, that could be just about anything."

Impossible to know from article what the backstory really is. Cal has the financial wedgie-of-all-wedgies dictating almost all the near term financial decisions in the Athletic Dept. Hard to know if he just saw the coming $$$ bloodbath as a no-win situation and would rather have someone else's name on the death warrants for those sports. On the other hand, I would much rather face a Sorry Yikes-coached cal football program than the new guy, who seems to have more potential and has already seems to have helped the Bears' recruiting. That might have been Williams' best move of his tenure. But coming off Sorry Yikes, almost any move in any direction, would. I was sorry to see Sorry go.
I also note for the record that in the Soviet spirit of rehabilitation of past leaders, our "auto-correct" spelling of Sonny Dykes has been suspended. I just had to change it manually for old times' sake.

Speaking of which, we need a nickname for Kal's new HC. My suggestion: Wilcuck.

I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty happy if I never saw the word "cuck" again in my life.

I dunno, it's pretty useful as a signal about the speaker.
