Probably best for them anyway. A 2nd and a 3rd for McCarron? Seems like overkill.
I also heard/read somewhere else that there was a difference in interest between the front office and Hue Jackson with Hue being the driving force behind this trade.Â
Given his worse than subpar record it's surprising he'd still have such a big say in the organization.

Probably best for McCarron, too.
Free Phogge!!!! And no, crimson doesn't refer to the Tide.

Yeah, this may have been a case where their incompetence saved them. I presume that as bad as he has been, the franchise hasn't given up on Kizer, so you are giving up a second and third draft pick for someone you are tabbing as your back-up? Better to invest those two picks on some help for the QB.

Seems like a real confidence booster for Kizer/sarc
Feel bad for Andrew and Kevin at these dysfunctional franchises.

Offering a second and third round pick indicates that they have given up on Kizer. You don't trade that much draft capital for a backup.
Kizer was the 52nd overall pick so they aren't invested in him the way they would have been if they had drafted a QB with their picks at #1 or #12.

Agreed. With that knowledge, tt can't have been a good day at work for Kizer today.
Latest reports indicate that the front office may have purposefully torpedoed the deal. Apparently the owner is really pissed...which means that Browns fans can look forward to seeing a few more years of Hue Jackson swerving the ship.
