Music during the play and the interval between is bush league. Probably done for the young crowd who has an attention span of about three seconds.

Well, I know someone who enjoyed the heck out of the music: my 19-month-old. He was having a blast all game, although he seemed to get a bit more worked up when Cal was making plays. Gotta work on that.

I can think of a million reasons why that canned music over the PA system is abominable [as I just made clear in my season ticket member survey response to the email Fan Survey I got this morning from the AD].
However, I guess there is at least one favorable thing: it annoys cal fans.Â
Fine. I'm okay with it being played once every other year -- at Big Game.

There was one timeout (I think in the 4th Q) when the canned cacophony did NOT come on. In fact, it was stunning because all I could hear was the subdued murmur of a lot of little conversations. I think this lasted at least 30-40 seconds before something interrupted the silence. But it was conspicuous because there wasn't any loud crap coming out of the PA.
This was also the first time I noticed the "timeout guy" on the NW side of the field who held him arm up until it was time to resume play. Maybe there's always a guy like that on the sidelines, but this was the first time I remember seeing him on the field.

You want loud music etc. Go to a Warriors game. Its a freaking circus during timeouts. That and the absurd PA announcer ruin the experience for me. At least Harrison Barnes isnt there when he scored that clown would go HahaHarison Baaarnnes.

Let's get our DJ ready to go because I hate how Notre Dame will rent HS bands to play their little tunes. With DJ (still don't recall his name) blasting away there is just not a lot of time for the road team to enjoy their band. And that's fine by me.
FWIW - Yes, if the noise, the night games, the lengthy TV timeouts and in stadium loyalty messages are all going to be part of our Pac-12 future.
For some reason I feel like mentioning ... I am forever grateful to the Buck/Cardinal Club.
