As expected, Stanford leads the to-date point totals over the academic year, with margins of ~260 pts over second-place Ohio State and ~300 points over third-place North Carolina.

I think Stanford lengthens its lead over Ohio State with points to come in women\'s rowing, baseball, and track & field.  North Carolina could make up ground in baseball (#13 to Stanford\'s #24) and track & field, but a second-place Stanford finish in rowing is hard to overcome.

Maybe if they won by less than the margin of points earned through their football team (plus whatever their 11th best men's team scoring value for the season).

I didn't even realize Ohio State had a men's volleyball team, btw.  They won the national championship this year.

Apparently we've won the women's Capitol One Cup and are 11 pts out of first place for the men's Capital One Cup.  A really nice finish in baseball would lock that up. 

Funny how Eastern Washington is third in the men's race there.  Oh yes, they have 60 pts, and that's because they won the D3 football championship.  Twenty points for a first-place finish, times the 3x multiplier for football being football, and voila--clearly Eastern Washington is one point better than Stanford in this Capitol One Cup race.  Ridiculous.

Are you sure that the women's race is over? California should pick up a bunch of points for its College World Series appearance in softball. (Stanford will also pick up a few points if it finishes in top 10 in the softball rankings.) That would seem to give California a chance to overtake Stanford with a strong performance in track & field. It seems like a long shot, but not impossible.
