The 2018 NIT will feature four rules modifications:
â The three-point line will be extended by approximately 1 foot 8 inches to the same distance used by FIBA for international competition (22 feet 1.75 inches).
â The free throw lane will be widened from 12 feet to 16 feet, consistent with the width used by the NBA.
â The games will be divided into four 10-minute quarters as opposed to two 20-minute halves. Teams will shoot two free throws beginning with the fifth foul of each quarter.
The shot clock will reset to 20 seconds after an offensive rebound instead of the full 30 seconds.

i feel really bad about U$C missing out on the NCAA tourney.

From a purely economic perspective, it would have benefited Stanford to have USC in the NCAA tournament. (And it benefits us to have all Pac-12 teams who are actually in win as many games as possible.)
On the other hand, some things are priceless. I wonder if the Trojans make the NCAA tourney if Daejon Davis's buzzer beater rims out?
In any case, I'm happy that our men get another home game. I'm especially rooting for Michael Humphrey to come back from his way-below-average Pac-12 tournament performance.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)

I was oblivious to the fact that a bunch of games were played today, and Oklahoma State beat FGC by 12 so the winner of our game will travel to the higher seed.
