I just read what I interpreted as an anti-woof on another board, so that reminded me of Oliver's Woofing Theorem.  It started on Usenet and predates the world wide web. I think it's from around the time David Shaw played at Stanford. It certainly explains the 1990 and 1991 Big Games.

Even if the weauf gawds have nothing to do with the outcome of football games, I'd like to believe the OWT has an effect on the behavior of fans.
