so it appears that with the new software you can see who is boosting or tearing down your "reputation"

go to "User CP" and near the top you'll see "your account summary", in the 3rd line of the summary is "reputation", click on details and you'll see who has given you what rating and which post they rated.

Wasn't aware there was a ranking, much less a tattle tale feature.

How do you give someone a "nice post"? Hit the star nearest his/her name?

click on "+ Rate" just under the post you want to rate and you can select to give it +1, 0, or -1. You can optionally leave a reason for your rating.

I do think the fact that people can’t anonymously tear others down is a good feature.  Like you, I much preferred the system that focused on rating posts instead of individuals, but at least this will hopefully add some accountability.  One nice feature of the new software is that you can rate threads (but I think it applies to the entire thread, not a post within it).  Still, I think this is a big improvement over the last iteration of the rating system.

I’m not entirely sure what rating someone 0 (presumably no change) would accomplish.  Like “I want you to know that this was a decidedly average post”.
