Down goes the oldest women's record at Stanford: two-time Olympian Carol Cady's 207-8 (63.30m) from 1983. Allman has had a longer throw, but her lifetime best of 212-3 (64.69m) during a redshirt season last year. However, this meet is viewed as an extension of her collegiate season, enabling Allman to finally break the school mark, something she had her eye on since breaking the school freshman record in her collegiate debut in 2014.

I didn't know until I read this article that Carol Cady was a two-time Olympian. If I recall correctly, she was the TA in a weightlifting class I took that was led by Chris Horpel, longtime wrestling coach. Kinda cool that such accomplished athletes took the time to share their knowledge and efforts with regular (i.e. non-recruited) students. Sure they were probably
required to put in some hours to fulfill obligations, but they were very earnest in their engagement. Cool memory. So I got that going for me.
