Oh, that's easy. Don't risk a blocked FG or a bad snap for a punt. Don't risk a pass that could be tipped, or incomplete to stop the clock. Ergo, run it up the middle.

Oh me too. There’s more than one way to skim the proverbial cat, and wen you are up 2 TD’s into the fourth quarter or 27 points to start the half, you should win, and both did. Plus, it was coaching that got you the lead.
It will be a tough game next week. I suspect WSU will be favored by a TD or so.

Given Leach's performance in the post game press conference after the loss to the Bares last year, it would have been amusing to hear what he would have said if the Ducks had come back and won.

One issue that has to be considered when you talk about "turtle mode" is who the teams are. I think Leach would tell you they don't have a real "turtle mode" ability. They basically don't run the ball, so they do what they know how to do. If that one pass that the receiver took away from the DB goes the other way, it could be a different situation.
Stanford is not doing real good on the ground this year, but we at least practice it a lot (even in games it seems). And it does take time.

Yeah, I really doubt if our defense is going to be able to stop the Coug's passing attack. I hope Costello and the offense will be ready for a big, big day.

No kidding, he had one of the most high school impressive tapes I'd seen since McCaffrey. Interesting that he stayed with WSU because of the bond he had formed with the RB coach there, and then the coach abandoned WSU for Oregon.
