Wow. Cristobal is terrible at managing the game. Second timeout burned, already only 16:30 left in the game, and you are down 17. Further compounds the point that trading four minutes of clock for 3 points (in a 20 point game) is a terrible trade.
Way too many underneath routes and runs that take too long. For all of their quick-strike reputation, this Oregon offense is suprisingly slow.

Okay, right now is it better for Stanford if the Cougs hang on to win or Coug it? I say that if they Coug it, they might be deflated to the point that they don't get fired up to play Stanford in Palo Alto.

Maybe Washington state should have taken a page from the Shaw playbook and tried to turtle a bit?
They’ve had two pass heavy series. One resulted in a three and out taking less than two minutes off the clock and the other resulted in an interception.

I am actually going to agree with your argument re Shaw turtling, in this instance for Washington State. Too much time remaining.
Still think Washington State holds on here, a la our win over Oregon in 2013. Too big of a hole from 1st half, and Oregon's offense not moving fast enough to increase number of chances on offense. Can't really see them getting the ball more than 3 times in this game. Possible they only have two drives left.

5:30+ more off the clock, and only three points to show for it. Oregon still in a world of trouble, needing a touchdown, and likely only going to get one chance to score (at most) with only one time out remaining. Any points from the Cougs, or even a couple of first downs, would all but ice the game away.
